When you purchase an eBook or redeem an access code, you are obtaining the right to read the content online as well as download it to your own device to be accessed offline.

- Course Content
- Completion Certificates
- Verify a Certificate
In order to begin a new course, follow these steps:
- Log in to the site
- Under your eLearning profile [profile icon & account name], select My Courses
- Click the course name in the Active Courses section
- Courses that have been completed are listed as “Completed”
- Each will give an option to “Re-enroll” (register/re-purchase) in the class
- Courses that are actively being completed are listed as “In Progress
- Courses that are assigned, but are not yet “In Progress” are listed as “Not Started”
- Courses that have been completed are listed as “Completed”
- The course name is a hyperlink that will take you into the course
On the course home page always start with the first exercise. You will receive instructions on what you need to do to complete the course. Once you finish an exercise, return to the Course Home page and move to the exercise you wish to complete on the list.
Begin the assignment listed within the course. Your progress automatically saves.
Once complete, the exercise will have a “Review” on the course home page, with a checkmark to the left of the exercise title. Your work in an exercise, however, will not be saved if you log out before you finish that exercise.
If your course is “Complete” and the survey was answered, you will have access to your CE Certificate.
If you are experiencing difficulty accessing your completion certificate, most likely, one of your required exercises has not been completed.
- Log in to the site
- Under your eLearning profile [profile icon & account name], select My Certificates
- Under “Download” or “Email”, select the “Certificate CE” option
- Scroll down the course home page and make sure that all of the required modules have been completed
- After you verify that all of your required exercises, including the evaluation, are complete, click the Course Homepage link
- If your certificate is not unlocked (appears gray) on the course, you have either not yet finished the course or have not yet completed the survey. This is the most common issue we encounter as many do not realize the survey is required. Once completing the survey, the button will turn red. An example image is located below.
Your certificate should now be available in the Certificates tab or can be accessed by clicking the “Certificate” button.
You can either save as a PDF, print/scan, or take a screenshot to upload. The full page must be in the image.
All completion certificates are assigned a unique identifier that is associated with the certificate date and the student’s name on the document.
Type the IMP/SCI certificate number into the AHA’s “Verify Certificate” tool to validate the pdf document.
Note: All certificates from courses on this site begin with IMP/SCI. The letters A, E, I, O, U and Q are not used in certificate numbers after the IMP/SCI prefix, and they may indicate that a certificate is from another training provider. Certificate Numbers are case sensitive.
*If the certificate is not from eLearning.Heart.org, or begins with a prefix other than IMP, it may be possible to verify your certificate on Laerdal.com

Continuing Education Information
While your AHA eCard account serves as a repository for your current and expired cards when consistently using the same format of your name and email to register, the account does not directly provide you with information for continuing education credits (CE, CEU, CME, etc.).
Note that the AHA is not an accrediting agency and not all accrediting bodies/organizations accept their CE credits.
To find out if your organization of accrediting body accepts CEUs for the respective AHA course, follow the steps to access your CE certificate.
Steps to Access CE Certificate
1. Login to eLearning.Heart.org(link opens in new window.
2. Once logged in, on the upper right of your screen, select your name drop-down [profile icon & account name] and select ‘Classes’.
You can also access the CME/CE Credits at My Certificates.
3. Once on the My Courses page, select the “Completed Courses” tab, and look under the “CME/CE Credits” column. Note: To claim CME/CE, you need to have fully completed the online portion of the course, including the evaluation. Once completed, the course will appear in “Completed Courses.”
4. Follow the steps to download or complete information to claim your CME/CE credit.
Troubleshooting
If the most common cause of inaccessibility to the CME/CE credit certificate is the incomplete evaluation.
1. Click the Course Homepage link.
2. Scroll down the course home page and to ensure all required modules have been completed and do not indicate they are “In Progress.” Typically, the tabs will be titled “Review” to indicate the course is complete and you can go back to refresh on the material.
3. Completion of the content should activate the call-to-action button for the evaluation. The button should be clickable like a hyperlink and NOT greyed out.
-If they content is greyed out, the course is showing incomplete and call AHA eLearning support if the assignment is complete.
-If the button is illuminated, check your download settings for restrictions as the PDF may be attempting to download and a program or setting is preventing completion.
