* Course Objectives may vary based on chosen course pathway
This course pathway covers the basics of CPR and first aid topics, including adult CPR, AED, & choking relief, and a few prominent first aid topics. All other topics, including pediatric CPR/AED, are optional. This format of Heartsaver uses a traditional learning approach that is completed entirely in person. Students will watch informational videos, broken up by instructor lectures and demonstrations, and will then practice and test hands-on skills.
Topics: Survivor Story; Introduction; Hands-Only CPR; Adult CPR, AED, and Choking Relief; Key Steps of First Aid/Finding the Problem; Precautions/Exposure to Blood; Allergic Reactions; Heart Attack; Stroke; External Bleeding.
This format of Heartsaver follows the same topics as Traditonal Heartsaver Basic, but uses a blended learning approach which utilizes part online and part in-person delivery methods for course completion, and is ideal for students looking for a shorter in-person class time. Students will complete the self-paced HeartCode Heartsaver online course through the AHA eLearning website, which guides student through all required topics. Afterwards, you will attend an in-person session to practice and test all hands-on skills with an instructor.
You must complete the HeartCode Heartsaver online prior to your in-person session. Bring a hard-copy of the Completion Certificate you receive after finishing the online course to your skills session, or email it to info@medultralearning.com. We cannot test your skills without this certificate.
For all blended/HeartCode courses, you must complete the online coursework prior to your in-person session. Bring a hard-copy of the required completion certificate with you to your in-person session, or email it to info@medultralearning.com. We cannot test you without this certificate.
